Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial music producer and singer, who mixes soul gospel jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as during the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine, whose given name was Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing piano and singing in the church. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B style of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan; it was later remixed by numerous producers and is a staple in her live show. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's 2008 inauguration.
